Frequently Asked Questions

What Are Aesthetic Neuromodulators or Neurotoxins?

Botox is an Aesthetic neuromodulator/ neurotoxin that is injected into the muscles and helps to temporarily improve the appearance of fine to moderate lines in certain areas of the face. Once injected into the treatment area, they work to temporarily block the muscle from contracting, which decreases muscle activity and reduces the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles.

What are the objectives during the assessment and consultation process?

The goal is to educate patients regarding the need to receive this treatment in multiple places because injecting solely one area of muscles and not another can upset the natural balance and result in things like brow drooping and other unsatisfactory results.

What is the average unit dispersion in a typical visit?

The prescribed units can differ from one patient to another. The FDA standard dose for glabella (11s), crow’s feet, and forehead is 60 units. A proper assessment and consultation are recommended to better know how many units are required.

How Many Times Will I need Treatment?

3 Times a Year.

Neuromodulators typically last 3-5 months, depending on multiple factors. Factors that can alter the time neuromodulators last can be the anatomy of the patient, meaning the patient may have stronger muscles that require a larger number of units. Those with faster metabolism also have the treatment wear off quicker. Patients who have a higher activity level like a regular exercise schedule can tend to have their activity wear off faster.

Will I require a follow-up appointment for my botox treatments?

Following treatment, we offer two week follow up with complementary touch ups of up to 15 units. Your next treatment will be prescheduled following this appointment for 3 to 5 months out.

Dermal Fillers
What are injectable dermal fillers?

Injectable dermal fillers are approved treatments that temporarily add volume to certain areas of the face, including areas like lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, and nasolabial folds to name a few.

How due injectable dermal fillers work?

Injectable dermal fillers are made from a range of different substances, but the primary ingredient in most injectable fillers is hyaluronic acid, a water-loving molecule found naturally in the skin. A modified form of HA serves as the backbone of many clear, colorless, gel-like injectable fillers, which are injected under the skin to add volume to areas such as cheeks, lips, chin, jawline, and nasolabial folds.

What dermal fillers are used in your Med Spa?

Trusted Care Aesthetics uses multiple different collections of fillers including Juvederm, Belotero, Restylane, and Sculptra products.

What are common side effects of dermal fillers?

Common side effects include bruising, swelling, redness, and tenderness at the injection site. These side effects if they do occur, typically resolve after just a few days.

How do I prepare for my dermal filler treatment?

We recommend avoiding non-essential blood thinners such as Aspirin, Advil, Motrin, and fish oil for at least one week before treatment. We also recommend avoiding any alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
